And so the New Year begins, all shiny and fresh and full of promise.

Many plans have been and are being made with a need to push my business further this year, to expand what I do and look at how to enable me to do so.

Already changes are happening in our tiny house with a new doorway through meaning I no longer have to venture outside to get to my studio. This is a major breakthrough for me and means I can continue to work when the children are home from school without being away from them. I also don't have to get wet when it rains...which it does...incessantly.

New wholesale customers are being added to my list and this excites me. A lot. I need to add more and also explore some other avenues which are presenting themselves. It's all feeling like the fates are leading me down a path and I must make sure I help them out by doing my research.

But other things have also been happening (cue usual embarrassing photos):

Walks on the beach....

A New Year's Hobbit party

With our lovely Hobbit friends (I think I will be in trouble for this)!

Dancing and good food and much laughter. Just brilliant!

The whole Christmas holiday was wonderful but already seems so long ago. Now it is time for me to move into the present and that means considering my range..new products added back in the autumn sold well, including a lot of hand embroidered birds on little girls' bags

and journal covers

and there are now travel journals

Yes, it's mostly good and very busy....thank goodness.

But I must still make room for those moments such as this...

And breathe.... x

  1. Hello Sue and Happy New Year to you too! Didn't see the programme but am already looking forwrd to a meet up at Roskilly's this year. I am seeing Diana on Tuesday so no doubt you ears will be burning!

The little blonde boy made the most amazing Hobbit and the outfits were all made by the group of us ten years ago for a Lord of the Rings party. Can't believe it was that long ago.

Think it must be the falmouth lifeboat though I can't see it...maybe I have seen it too often!

  2. A very Happy New Year to you, Pipany! It's marvelous to hear how well your business is doing...with your unique designs and expert needle work, you are creating treasures.

How wise you are to also be taking time now to contemplate future growth while keeping some hold on the truly beautiful Cornwall life. (The new connection to your studio must be so, so welcome.)

  6. Gorgeous photos... you certainly have had a fun time over Christmas. I do love the photos from your local area - we're talking about holidaying in Cornwall this summer - very tempting (if we can afford it!). Your pictures always make me smile - I think you should sell them to the tourism companies for their brochures!
And your work is lovely - I'm so pleased for you, that the business is taking off so well.

  7. It's so lovely to see pictures of the sea! It looks like you had a great time at new year. Sea-side towns seem to all have fancy dress parties, or am I imagining that? ;)
